Frequently Asked Questions
How do fees and insurance work?
I offer a free 15-minute introductory video consultation.
My fee for individuals is $200 for 45-minute sessions and $225 for the initial 55-minute intake session.
Payment is due at the time of service.
Sliding scale
I have limited spots for sliding scale clients. Please inquire for more information and availability! You can use these guidelines to assess your own eligibility for these limited slots.
Health Insurance Reimbursement
I am an out of network provider, but most insurance companies provide reimbursement for therapy. I will provide an invoice with all the information you need to obtain reimbursement. Please ask if you have any questions! I am happy to help guide you through the health insurance process.
Some initial questions to ask:
1) Do I have out-of-network benefits?
2) Do I have a deductible and if so, what is it?
3) What is the maximum number of visits per year?
4) If there is no reimbursement, can I set up a “single-case agreement”?
5) What is the out-of-network reimbursement rate for the following procedure codes? 90834 (individual 45-minute psychotherapy) and 90837 (individual 60 plus minutes psychotherapy)
No Surprises Act
Starting in 2022, there are new protections that prevent surprise medical bills. If you have private health insurance, these new protections ban the most common types of surprise bills. If you’re uninsured or you decide not to use your health insurance for a service, under these protections, you can often get a good faith estimate of the cost of your care up front, before your visit. To learn more about your rights under the No Surprises Act, you can visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-877-696-6775. All clients receive a Good Faith Estimate in their intake paperwork.
Where are you located?
You can choose the convenience of telehealth in Washington, DC, and Maryland. Telehealth services take place over a confidential, HIPAA-compliant video communication platform.
I offer in-person therapy in downtown Silver Spring, MD. Check out the Location tab for more information about parking, public transit options, and accessibility.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours' notice for cancellations. This allows me to manage my schedule effectively and offer the time to others who may need support. Missed appointments without notice will incur a fee of the full cost of the session. A session is considered "missed" if there is no attendance and no notice after 15-minutes into the scheduled appointment time.
